In the past I have said warped tour sucks, and many people accused me of not criticizing it before i went. So I went yesterday. And I still think Ozzfest and Sounds of the Underground are better.
First off, there weren't many good bands there. You had Dillinger, Atreyu, Suicide Machines, and the Offspring. Emery and Hopesfall. Ettison Clio and Crackjaw. Those were the only bands I cared to see, and I didn't get to see them all. The way the stupid thing was set up made me sacrifice seeing Crackjaw so I could see Atreyu. And Suicide Machines and Offspring went on so late in the day, that I was already worn out and didn't have the energy to see their whole sets.
The bands that I did see that I wanted to see were awesome. But it's the way the whole tour was organized that annoyed me. Wait, warped tour isn't organized. It's the most unorganized thing ever. This is anotter part where Ozzfest is better, becuase you can actually see EVERY band that plays. In order to get a good spot for Atreyu, I had to push my way to the front during Fall Out Boy while having crowd surfers kick me in the head.
People say, "Yeah, you can spend $50 or $60 bucks on ozzfest for 20 bands, but with warped tour, you see 30 bands for $30 bucks. WRONG. The way it's set up, you only see about five or six bands that you want to see, then you sit for about three hours through crap getting skin cancer and paying three fucking dollars for a bottle of water. Good thing the Flagass tent had a cooler where I could get my free water. By the time another good band (Suicide Machines) was ready to go on, I was too worn out from the heat to be able to enjoy their whole set. I actually took about a ten minute break during their set, came back, and watched the end.
The Meet and greet tents were also fucked up. But it did give FlagAss some attention. the Fall out Boy tent was right across from us, so we got to hand out a bunch of free stuff to crazed fan girls.
When seeing your friends is one of the best parts of a concert, you know it sucks. I'm never attending warped tour again. Sometimes I felt like it was the first year for some tour because it was so unorganized. But then I remembered how Sounds of the Underground was just starting, and how that was set up so much better.
Matt and Bmast were too tired to sit through the offspring, so I watched what I could of them, and left in the middle of their set. Went to Red Robin's and ate. Came home. Passed out.
I have a horrible sunburn, too. If I had paid, that would've been a waste of my money.
